No Depression Festival

No Depression Music Festival

The No Depression Music Festival is an event that features many folk and mountain country musicians. These musicians typically use string instruments like acoustic guitars and banjos. The idea behind the poster is that through these musicians’ music, hope can be inspired in troubled minds. This is illustrated through the neck of the banjo growing into a life-filled tree.

GAID Banner

Tyler GAID Banner

The GAID (Graphic And Interactive Design) Program at Tyler School of Art often features banners designed by students to mark its territory in the vast school building. My design of the “Designer’s Swiss Army Knife” speaks to the multi-tasking I found myself doing after beginning my design career at Tyler. The knife features essential tools of any design student’s trade: a Sharpie marker for sketching out ideas, a USB flash drive to tranfer files to print, an X-Acto blade for cutting out print pieces, and a corkscrew to relax after spending all week repeating the process. After the design was finalized, the department had the banners printed onto large canvas paper so that the can hang proudly for years to come.
